PNG to Icon Composer
Xcode 26 uses .icon files, made in Apple's Icon Composer, for iOS and macOS app icons. The exporter turns your PNG into one, so you can add it to your project today and open it in Icon Composer later.
Add a transparent Android foreground under More options and the .icon keeps it on its own layer, above your background colour, so the system's glass and shadow effects can work on it.
How good is your icon?
Before you ship, check it with the App Icon Score: a quick grade on how your icon reads at small sizes, on light and dark home screens, and in tinted mode, with a tip for each.

Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no email and no watermark. Use the files in any app, free or paid.
Is my icon uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser, on your device. Your image never leaves your computer, and the tool keeps working if you go offline after the page loads.
What size should my icon be?
A square 1024 × 1024 px PNG is best. Smaller images still work, but the large sizes will look soft. For iOS, use a square with no rounded corners and no transparency: the system adds the mask.
Does it make dark and tinted icons for iOS?
It packages the dark and tinted icons you add under More options, with the right settings in Contents.json. It doesn't redraw your artwork, so without them iOS uses your standard icon.
What is an .icon file?
It's the format of Icon Composer, Apple's icon app that comes with Xcode 26. One .icon file covers iOS, iPadOS and macOS, including the dark, clear and tinted looks. Add it to your Xcode project and pick it as the app icon.
Why is my Android icon smaller inside the circle?
Android launchers crop icons into circles, squircles and other shapes. The exporter keeps your art inside the 66 dp safe zone so nothing gets cut off, and fills the rest with your background colour.
How do I add the favicon to my website?
Copy the files from the web folder to your site's root, then paste the lines from head.html into your page's <head>.
