What the score looks at
The same questions a studio asks before an icon ships.
| Small-size readability | Your icon shrunk to 29 px, the size in Settings and Spotlight. Fine lines, small text and low-contrast detail blur away; a bold main shape survives. |

Is my icon uploaded?
No. The score is worked out in your browser, on your device. Your image never leaves your computer, and the score card you save is made on your device too.
How is the score calculated?
Five checks, each from 1 to 5, based on how app icons actually get seen: tiny in Settings and Spotlight, on light and dark wallpapers, and in grey tones in tinted mode. The total is the average. It's a rule of thumb from a design studio, not a verdict, so trust your eyes too.
What does a good score look like?
Most well-made icons land at 4 or above. A 3 in one row usually means one fixable thing, like fine detail that disappears at 29 px or an icon that fades into a white home screen.
Why does it look at tinted mode?
Since iOS 18, people can tint every icon on their home screen. The system turns your icon into grey tones and colours it, so an icon needs a clear shape that still reads without its colours.
Can I use it for Android and macOS icons?
Yes. Small-size readability, silhouette, simplicity and contrast matter on every platform. The platform checks also cover the Android safe zone.
